Cy Ranch wins 6A state baseball championship

Playing in its second state title in four years, Cypress Ranch defeated Arlington 3-0 Saturday to win the 6A state championship.

The Mustangs took a 2-0 lead in the third inning when Marshall Skinner hit a ball to right field. It was misplayed and scored Elijah McNamee who hustled all the way from first base.

Up 3-0 in the seventh inning, Ryan Leftwich secured a fly ball to clinch the title for Cy Ranch.

"I can't even describe the feeling," Cy Ranch coach John Pope said. "I'm just so happy for my kids and my coaching staff. I'm just so proud of them. Our school, our community, it's just awesome all the way around."
