Not as bad as some. Go to TIRR in the medical center...there's always someone way worse off than you. I have had a lot of good things happen too. Like a great wife, twins via IVF, drive a GTR lol you know, there's good stuff too.

Trauma center at TIRR is bad news. Good news if you are a patient though. My future brother in laws fiance is getting transferred to TIRR from San Antonio. Fell off a bicycle with no helmet and broke her skull in 4 places as well as her collar bone and ribs. Had to be airlifted. Lots of brain swelling and bleeding with severe amnesia. May have permanent damage. He had just proposed to her the morning of the accident. Talk about bad timing.

I was there for a few months. Stories like this are all of there place there. It's like people get in this glee of happiness and toss safe thinking aside. I met a lot of people there. One guy tried to commit suicide and ended up being a C1 quadriplegic. He thought his life was bad before. He was a total and his parents were very well off. They got him his own room complete with a full HD screen, surround sound etc the works. He had a habit of cranking it up when we were all trying to rest. I asked the nurse to go turn it down so we could rest and he turned it back up. So I hopped in my chair went in the room and unplugged everything.

Not sure if this is the same man but a friend of mine on FB is friends with the family and saw a Gofundme set up.

Mark Hime is his name.

Looks like he was in critical condition last night and then this morning I saw a different gofundme set up for the memorial.

Go fund me said he was in a severe motor cycle accident on June 2nd I know yours says June 3rd but maybe dates messed up.

RIP to the rider and speed.

Went and re-read, you said his name was Clayton.

Wrong person it seems.

Too many riders going down. Be careful out there guys / gals.

I have the same injury from about 10 years ago, broke it and had it splinted.. Was due to see the orthopedist the next day and my daughter (who was a toddler at the time) was sitting next to me on the bed when I had to unwrap it due to some swelling. She stood up and fell on it, shattering the remainder of the broken bones. Luckily I got pain meds after the surgery. I cannot imagine having to do that one drug free!

I thought this guy sounded familiar, winds up i know him and met him a few times at a buddy's house.

He said he doesn't remember anything except the car in front of him braking real hard and swerving.

Next thing he remembers is getting loaded in the ambulance.

He was released later that night with a sprained wrist some cuts to his face and head. No stitches nothing major.

The next day he was rushed to the hospital cause his brain had swelled.

This is his second accident without a lid on.

I don't think he's going to be riding anymore.

Makes me wish riders would take a more active role learning how to ride their bikes.

We take chances everyday either it being riding, driving or even walking down the steet. The best thing to do is sharpen your skills and be prepared for anything. On a bike, this includes wearing you gear all the time. No, it will not always save you, just as a seat belt or air bags will not always save you, but it will stack the cards in your favor and when on a bike, you need all the cards possible.
