Almost T-boned a squid

Yesterday evening about 8 pm I had my closest call in years on a bike. And it was the fault of another bike!

Driving south on E. Lake Houston in Huffman, following a car, doing only 30-35 mph, car I'm following signals and turns right onto subdivision street before the school. The bike was stopped waiting to cross E. Lake Houston and go onto same street that the car did. Bike was already perpendicular to road so no turn involved just a straight crossing. Car completes his turn and bike immediately pulls out fast directly in front of me. Took all the brakes I had to stop and avoid T-boning him. First time I've had ABS kick in on the new bike riding pavement, that plus the linked brakes saved my bacon. I expect this from cagers but another biker surprised me. Bike was blue/white and a GSXR I believe. Rider didn't even look back and I'm not the road rage type so I just rode home. My heart was skipping a beat with adrenaline for the next minute though. I don't use the term squid easily but used it here as the rider was wearing shorts.

If the rider sees this and is still on this earth I would love to hear your story. Keep riding like that and he wont be living for long. If I would have been a car instead of a bike no way I could have stopped and squid would have been tenderized.

I've been waffling on buying a headlight modulator but this incident just made up my mind for me. Need all the visibility help out there we can get so I'll risk annoying some drivers to accomplish that.

Naah worked out okay this time, next time you might not be so lucky though. You do owe me $0.88 for excessive use of my tire rubber and brake pads though. Lol

If you were behind the car he probably didn't even see you. That would explain the him not looking back

Also cars stop faster than bikes so if you were in a car you probably would have stopped sooner.

No he definitely saw me, I could tell by the shock in his eyes. But he was already committed so just gassed it.
