scattered showers....and we'll be west of Houston most of the day....I don't melt and a little rain won't detour me when I have a "get out the house for two days" pass. Now, if we wake up to thunder and lightning on Saturday morning...Nvm, it ain't gonna rain.

And this should have been your basic plan from the beginning and you would have gotten more interest in the ride. I really wanted to join but the night before decision making uncertainty sent me making other ride plans for the weekend that were a go rain or shine.

I doubt if you'll get even a drop of rain, weather is looking to be beautiful. Have a safe ride.

well, that didn't happen....but, it wasn't all that bad. Here's a few pics along the way. Big thanks to Chris for getting me out of the house and onto some nice roads with pretty nice scenery. Wish the whole thing could have been dry, but there's always next time. Lots and lots of low water crossings, bridges, old buildings/towns, some newer towns and newer roads....all in all a good time. Sorry, not much of a picture taker. Was more concerned with riding and paying attention to the road. Guadalupe River all the way up to the edge of River Rd. was a first for me too....

Made it to Austin without much rain, stopped at the Oasis and the sky opened up.

Dirty Bike

My idea was not to wash the bike beforehand to keep the rain away....well, that didn't happen....but, in the end I'm REALLY happy I didn't wash it. 692 miles roundtrip....and have never made it from Seguin to Houston that fast in my life. Sol, also got his first taste of lanesplitting.
