Guys, it's been raining like a cow on a flat rock for the past few days....

Also, you can always call and find out for yourselves.

Can't be any worse than trying to ride at General Sams ATV. hahaha

Also I had been hoping for decent weather this week to help out.

I was just looking to hear from guys who have been out there. If you call you either get the automated massage that simply says open or closed or if you get someone on the phone its is usually a nice lady that doesn't step foot on the trials and doesn't know the true conditions.

I'm more concerned with scattered trees and debris than I am mud and water.

All,

We are ok to start using chainsaws again. I have attached a Chainsaw JHA for your review, please pass this on to the other folks that are certified to operate chainsaws.

Please remember that these trees may be under significant tension and binds. Please do not attempt to remove any trees that you feel are above your skill or comfort level. Note locations of complex trees so that the FS can have them removed. Remember that NO ONE is certified for tree felling operations.only bucking trees that are on the ground.

LSHT folks: For the time being the Richards Loop will remain closed. I ask that we do not cut any trees off the trail in this area until we determine the areas that might be affected if a salvage sale of the down timber were to occur.

DLMB folk: I have spoken with Jim and the FS will come help Jim remove the hazard trees he has identified. Until that occurs do your best to keep folks off those sections of trail.

MUT folk: I was able to check all the bridges on the East side. All bridges still there. I did not ride every section of trail nor did I keep a count of trees down. In my opinion there was NOT significant storm damage on the East side. There are trees down on all trail segments though not in unusual numbers considering the amount of time the trails have been closed. The worst section I found was on the Lake Loop between the 233 TH and FM 1375. Once the trails dry out a bit I will open the East Side.

MUT West Side: The entire Balloon Loop and the String will remained closed until further notice. Please do not remove trees in these trail segments. I have not been able to make it to these trail segments yet. In addition these areas may be affected if salvage operations of the down timber were to occur.
Big Loop will remain closed.

There are about 60 trees down on the remaining trail segments; Woodpecker, Honey Moon, and Kelly Pond. I would like to organize a work weekend before we open these three sections. Trees down in the following areas:

Woodpecker: Kelly Pond TH to South intersection of Big Loop 3 Trees
Woodpecker: Section between the two intersections of Big Loop 1 Tree
Woodpecker: Big Loop to Honey Moon 6 Trees
Woodpecker: Honey Moon to FM 1375 2 Trees
Woodpecker: FM 1375 to Bridge 31 9 Trees
Woodpecker: Bridge 31 to FS215 3 Trees
Woodpecker: FS215 to 208 TH 7 Trees
Kelly Pond: 208 TH to FM 1375 5 Trees
Kelly Pond: FM 1375 to Bridge 35 8 Trees
Kelly Pond: Bridge 35 to Kelly Pond TH 3 Trees
Honey Moon 14 Trees

Please contact me if you have any questions and be Safe.

Thanks,
Jason

GUYS====we will be working trails again this Saturday. If you want to help show up at the east side trailhead at 8:30am sharp, with a whooper or machete, a full camelback, and your bike, yes your bike!!!!. TRAILS ARE STILL CLOSED till we get them cleaned up. There is still 40 fallen trees on the trails and we have to get them cut out before the forestry service will reopen the east side trails. There is also some trail clearing needed. We worked there last weekend and cut out over 30+ trees and trails were in very good shape for riding, but we cannot ride till they open them, so help out and let's get the trails cleaned and open. Larry

If I could get a weekend off I would. A few buddies of mine and I have been talking about setting aside time to come help. I'll pass on the info as they may be able to make it out this weekend. Are all the cleans ups scheduled by ODODB?
