That paper they are trying to get them to sign just screams "sue us!".

I wonder how many of them will play ball. They could get one of a class action going on. There has got to be some lawyers somewhere who want in on this.

Then why is Paul Looney planning on being in the McLennan County D.A.'s office?

The D.A. is the dude or woman that argues in court on the amount of bail that is sought.

WACO JUDGE AGREES TO LET MOST BIKERS GO – IF THEY SIGN A CONTRACT VOWING NOT TO SUE FOR WRONGFUL ARREST

http://washingtonweeklynews.com/texa...ongful-arrest/

I look at it like this. If I was arrested, you've already likely lost your job and are behind in bills. I would wait it out and sue like . This (to me) shows that the govt knows they're gonna pay and they want to get out of what they can.

RIVAL BIKE CLUBS UNITE TO SHOW THEIR RESPECT AT A BANDIDO FUNERAL

Bikers from other clubs showed up to ride for Candyman from all over the nation.
Today America’s bikers made history in a show of unity like never before. Manny ‘Candyman’ Rodriguez was gunned down by police in Waco Texas on May 17th. Today his memorial service was an astounding rainbow of colors from all over the nation as Bandidos, Hells Angels, Mongols, Vagos, dozens of red and gold support clubs, Christian bikers, vets, other clubs and independents amassed in a massive showing of support. It was a beautiful and amazing experienceto be a part of this mind blowing moment in biker history.. Perhaps what happened to you will not be in vain.. You may be the driving force behind a united front against threats like the Waco Police Department shooting then locking up innocent people.

Bikers released after bond reduction agreements with DA (link)
Quote:
The judges said they met with District Attorney Abel Reyna on Thursday and agreed to consider significantly lower bonds if attorneys for the bikers and Reyna’s office could reach accords.
Quote:
Waco attorney Jonathan Sibley represented the Austin trio and negotiated their releases with the DA’s office. He said he hopes charges eventually will be dismissed against his clients.
Quote:
Houston attorney Paul C. Looney was in Waco on Thursday morning filing motions on behalf of his client, William English, of Brenham. English and his wife, Morgan, both are jailed under $1 million bonds.
Looney said he tried to get in to see Reyna before he left town Thursday afternoon but was turned away. He was surprised to learn of Sibley’s success later in the day.
Hey Looney, I guess you can get done when you don't waste time writing "press releases".

WACO DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE REACHING BOND REDUCTION AGREEMENTS WITH BIKERS FROM TWIN PEAKS SHOOTOUT

Earlier today, prosecutors in the Waco District Attorneys office began meeting with defense attorneys for motorcyclists involved in the May 17 shootout at Twin Peaks in order to reach bond conditions and reduction agreements. Paul Looney, Houston attorney with Looney & Conrad, P.C. said he had a productive meeting with Michael Jarrett, First Assistant Prosecutor with the McLennan County District Attorneys office. During that meeting a reasonable bond was agreed to with only minor conditions.

"My clients were released this morning. We have every expectation that they will be 'No Billed' during the Grand Jury process because they are completely innocent of any criminal activity," Looney said. "The judges in McLennan County and the District Attorney's office were quite helpful in securing the immediate bond release."

It has been determined the District Attorney's office was not involved in yesterday's attempt to get defendants to waive their rights of litigation in exchange for bonds. "That entire debacle was orchestrated by McLennan County private attorney Brittany Lannen," Looney said. "Her behavior in this matter is bizarre, unprofessional, unethical and unappreciated by all of the attorneys representing defendants, by the McLennan County District Attorneys office, and by the McLennan County court staff. Her behavior will be reported to the State Bar of Texas for investigation this week."

Ms. Lannen began her legal career prosecuting misdemeanor offenses in Collin County. She tried over 30 jury trials in her two years as a misdemeanor prosecutor, along with hundreds of trials before the court and hearings. She later pursued a position in McLennan County in the Crimes Against Children division where she prosecuted felony offenses against the most vulnerable members of society.

"It appears the public defenders office in McLennan County is involved in this scurrilous activity," said Paul Looney, a Houston attorney with Looney & Conrad, P.C.

It should be pointed out that McLennan County does not have a public defender’s office, a local attorney said.
Bahahahahahaha. I wonder how Looney got his name?
