Hondas CRF1000L Africa Twin in detail
No mud no dim light no colour
HERE’S a more detailed view of the new CRF1000L Africa Twin than Honda has so far been willing give us.
No coating of mud, no dim lighting, just a detailed image of the 1000cc parallel-twin adventure bike, albeit in greyscale.
The pictures are from patents and show a machine very similar to the ‘True Adventure Prototype’ unveiled caked in mud at the Eicma Milan motorcycle show in November last year. Parts to have changed include the exhaust, which has grown bigger.
It’s the first good look at the production version in its entirety, and follows pictures released by Honda earlier this week showing the bike partially obscured in low lighting.
Honda has indicated the machine will have real off-road potential, saying it will share the ‘go-anywhere’ attributes of the original 1988 XRV650 Africa Twin and ‘redefine’ what a large-capacity adventure bike is capable of.
The CRF1000L Africa Twin is due to go on sale later this year.
