I don't know about great... they probably have about 2-3 sessions left and the track still has to dry, which may take a bit

the grip out there in some turns sucks when its damp, much less wet.

I cornerworked once when we had freezing rain. We only had crashes in Turn 6 (three crashes) and one in Turn 8b where Ty low-sided coming down full-speed on his rain tires. Turn 6 was even marked on the map we were given to watch out for slick conditions. I told Gavin to be careful in Turn 6, I know he will be taking it easy out there.*keeping fingers crossed* At least the rain from above has stopped, no fun riding in soaked leathers.

lets see... between T1 and T2 gets puddles, T4 sucks, so does T6, T7 kinda, T9(8b) really sucks(even dry sometimes), T11, T13, and T15(gets big puddles).

When I talked to James they had already had 3 crashes(in the morning when it wasn't raining) and then 1 in the rain.

Sounds more like you don't like TWS (Texas World Speedway) period. :laughing6 Also, I guess the three crashes in the dry prove that it has nothing to do with rain.

I had cornerworked T2 when we had the freezing rain and there were no issues. There was a bit of a puddle left between T2 and T3 but it wasn't an issue. It was on the straight and nobody even flinched.

By the way, the folks that crashed on the day I cw crashed because they were really pushing it. Everyone else who took it easy made it home just fine. So yeah, it is all about throttle control and being smooth.

I just got a call from Moe (Blackwidow) and he said the track is okay.

actually I like that track quite a bit and I go good there... Although I like it I have ridden it in all conditions and Im only stating my thoughts on the track itself when it's not in dry conditions :icon_smil. I guess it just depends on the level of riding also.

Well guys just got back from TWS (Texas World Speedway). Weather finally cleared up and due to so many people leaving early we had an open track where we managed to get just as much if not more seat time as any other track day. Got the trucks on the track and dried out nicely.

Was able to make the most of rain, rode a good 30 - 40 minutes in it and was able to work on being a much smoother rider. Legs actually tired out more riding in the rain than in the dry.

Good to see everyone again and see you on the next one.

I knew as soon as we left it would stop raining and the track would dry...lol.
I don't think I would have lasted the whole day...I'm currently downing cold meds trying to recover from getting sick...:BangHead: That will teach me to leave the rain coat at home...lol

It turned out to be a pretty good day. It was nice hanging out in the pit talking it up with everyone. Thought we were gonna get washed away there for awhile. Candie did good for her first time at TWS (Texas World Speedway). Maybe next time I'll actually get to ride! Can't wait for the next track day!

If I am not out there and Gavin (Skid) or Moe (Blackwidow) are, just ask them about the weather because I have nothing else to do in the office but keep an eye on my few selected accurate weather sites. My predictions are not even bad. :laughing6

Glad some were patient and hung in there. Looks like you got some really nice track time!

Was a great day!

I got in over 280 miles! That's almost like doing one and a half track days. Good on Lone Star for letting us out in the rain. I enjoyed myself a lot - i love rain riding, specially when you have a 2.9 mile track to yourself - with corner workers every where.

Thank you LSTD for having us!

Awesome track day overall!
