Didn't pay anything else. I usually wait a year before I pay the warrants (if you don't mind driving/riding dirty for a while) and the cops never show up. The big plus is I don't have any moving violations on my record because I never plead guilty or no contest. I do get points on my lisence but it's only for the failure to appear warrants so that's like 30 bucks per that goes to TDPS.

Screw paying that ticket bro..
solid advice.

accountability, or feeling any negative reprocussions for breaking the law.

I agree with that people should be held accountable, within reason. I'm just of the opinion that most fines paid to the courts are explicitly revenue generating and in no way deter people from speeding, running stop signs, etc. I have to add that while I don't agree with people speeding my case was strictly registration and inspection tickets that I "collected" over a year or so. Furthermore I do believe you suffer from your transgression by having paid for lawyer services to get out of said ticket.

My main argument with the OP'S ticket is that he's gonna have to pay quite a bit of money on top of the moving violation on his record. I strictly don't pay tickets to avoid aforementioned moving violations.

With kids in the backseat.....I'll dismiss the above advice. Lol

Sorry to hear it Sol....its almost a "framer"...I use to frame my "good ones". Operating on 1 wheel, anything over 100 mph or reckless got matted and framed. Been a long time since I won an award like that though.

Completely. Keeps the insurance premiums low. I've had plenty of tickets but they never show on my record. I'm not saying it's the smartest thing to do and maybe not even the cheapest route at times but it's the road I choose to walk.
Just my lite 2 cents. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions? No? May not agree but that's what makes this country so great!!!......For now.

But aren't you exchanging a criminal record for a clean driving record?

Absolutely not. When I let my tickets go to warrants I never have to enter a plea. I just post bond on the warrant, go to court and the tickets are generally dismissed. I've never had one not. So there is no record at all besides DPS fees which are generally about 20 or 30 bucks which need to be paid before license renewal.

interesting...so getting arrested for a warrant would not go on your record?

Never been arrested before so I wouldn't know. I just don't want my insurance to go up so that's why I choose this way. If you get arrested I can't speculate what the reprocussions might be. Im sure I might find out some day, hopefully not.

Side note: I was pulled over by HPD and the cop told me he doesn't arrest anyone that doesn't have more than 6 warrants. I'm assuming traffic warrants and not misdemeanor or felony warrants.

The only problem I've run into with my way of paying tickets is if you get one in a small municipality. I posted bond in Jacinto City and they commenced to raping me by doubling all said fines and failure to appears. Like I said, revenue generating.

Might try it next time you know I don't care.

This last one seemed like a pretty minor offense to me and that cost me 300 total after the lawyer apparently got it "dismissed"

Like I said, it might not always be the cheapest way out but with moving violations it's the only way I pay. A minor speeding ticket cost me about 150 and it was dismissed with no problem from the city of Houston. Let me remind you, this only works if the officers aren't present. That's why I wait for a while before I post bond.

you do know that you're achieving the same outcome (with added expenses) as you would by simply requesting a trial at the pre-trial conference with the D.A.

I usually go to the D.A. pre-trial conference and politely ask the D.A. to dismiss the ticket if we cannot come to a "meeting of the minds" then i request a trial
