I've been pulled over and warned at 140 by HPD at 1:30 in the a.m. HPD has always been cool with me as long as you don't act stupid.

Now all you that live in the SE have fun with those departments.

Just got done paying 200 dollars for rolling through a stop sign in league city and that's after I paid the lawyer.

One thing I love about Houston is the cops are pretty lax on petty traffic laws.

I dunno where I am at, if you are just a blatant douche you get hasseled regularly.

Normally they're pretty decent, I gues it helps, that I've coached their kids in some kind of sports in one way or another over the last 6 years.

Funny story,
Walked into the court room for a ticket. I sat down, the clerk is looking at paper, and did roll call. I answered, "here".

A few minutes later they divy us up in lines I am the second person in line, the prosecutor gets done with the first guy, he leans over and whispers to the bailiff. The bailiff leaves comes back with two more uniformed officers.

The prosecutor calls me up, " Mr Anatra, are you any relation to Thomas?", he asks. "yes sir I am he's my brother".

He looks at me for a minute, " I'm not gonna have any problems out of you today am I?",

me. "No sir I think were good".

Apparently my brother has a of a reputation

I got popped going 98 in a 55, no M, expired registration and no EZ tag right after I got my first bike. He ticketed everything but the speed and it all got thrown out.

He was HPD, really cool and said he was surprised I didn't run.

Lawyer.

Was busted for 90 in a 55, 60 in a 45, reckless driving and evading (had headphones in, he didn't follow me for more than a 1/2 mile)

I had to get a lawyer cause I was leaving the country at the time of the court date, lawyer pushed back for a few months until they made the lawyer represent me (I was in Afghanistan)

They reduced the 60 in a 45 to a 54 in a 45, all other charges were dismissed.

I paid $250 for the lawyer, he covered all court fees and associated fines! I decided from now on I will always get a lawyer. I also decided 600's were good enough from now on.

Ouch! Fines double too with the workers present! But basically the entire city is a construction zone so we are all !

What qualifies as a construction zone? Houston city limits?

I have my own little process for tickets. I had 8 warrants that I just settled. The last court date being last Thursday.

I usually let any and all tickets go to warrants before I attempt to pay them (as long as it's in a large jurisdiction). I pay the lawyer to post bond and have walked on every one of the 8 warrants. Didn't pay anything else. I usually wait a year before I pay the warrants (if you don't mind driving/riding dirty for a while) and the cops never show up. The big plus is I don't have any moving violations on my record because I never plead guilty or no contest. I do get points on my lisence but it's only for the failure to appear warrants so that's like 30 bucks per that goes to TDPS.

Screw paying that ticket bro..
