2008 1000rr clutch service

Seems like my clutch is engaging further and further ,also today when engine braking it barely engages, any thoughts other than replace the clutch?wasnt trying to spend 300-500$ on it this month

clutch packs are ~$100. Reuse your gasket or use RTV ($8). Have to change your oil as well but T6 only cost $20. Check some how to's.. it's really fairly easy.


Other than that, check your cable tension, make sure it's not fraying. Check the cable attachment point down on the clutch side too. If not the cable, replace the clutch.

A 6 yr old clutch on a torquey liter bike is probably needing a replacement, just being honest

I've asked a lot of questions here on MH everyone was helpful about my 2010 cbr clutch... I actually did the clutch on my bike myself and it was fairly easy!!

Ordered all my parts from partzilla... I used hondabond that I got from amazon for the gasket

Btw when a clutch is doing what mine is is it just the plates an fibers that normally need replacing
