HPD: Man pretended to be officer, tried to get into Rockets game

A man was arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer Tuesday night after police say he tried to get into the Rockets game by pretending to be an officer.

Houston police said about 10:45 p.m., James Thomas Pierce told people at the game that he was an officer and that he was trying to get back to his seat after he left to take a call. He even flashed some sort of badge when he identified himself.

Pierce, 57, finally admitted that he was not an officer and was taken into custody.
