Ride Smart @ COTA Feedback

So tell us how your COTA td was !!!!

I was able to instruct level 2a on Saturday, and had a rough morning. I was on a new to me bike and after the second session, I took the bike to Robert (On-road Off-road) to get it checked out. After a few minutes he said I would not be riding this bike today with the wet weather. So I left him the bike to refresh the front forks and took out my back up bike. With brand new street tires it was not fun for me sliding around on a 1000 on the wet track. Ride Smart decided to take an early lunch to let the track dry up. After lunch the track was a lot drier. And the students were able to ramp it up. The new zx10r was finally feeling fun for me on the track. Then around 4pm Roger was done with the new bike and I was able to take her out for a few sessions. AND IT WAS A BLAST. I went out for 4 sessions in a row to finally get to ride the new bike. Got to play with Shaun, Ignacio, and Tommy for a little bit.

How was your day?

A Trackbike
Another Trackbike
A Motard

Aside from the rain(...which is 's fault) and having to get used to a while new bike (stressful).

My only gripe is all the damned talking over the PA.

*Ding dong* "drink water. it's hot out side but you dont have to be"

30 seconds later...

*Ding dong* "remember folks, it's not a race. take it slow and easy while its wet"

20 seconds..

*ding dong* "lets have fun out there. remember, let be safe and enjoy this great day...oh look the sun is coming out"

35 seconds later...

*ding dong* "...some other unintelligible and patronizing pap.."

Ridesmart, i love what you do. But, for the love of Buddha..shut the up! you're up my between session nap.

Also, sometimes it was hard to hear what was actually being said.

The fire alarm going off at 5:45AM Sunday morning sucked! There was no going back to sleep after that thing going off for 20 minutes. Never heard if it was shenanigans or there was actually a problem.

As always, registration & tech went very smooth and we hit the damp/foggy track at 8am sharp. By the 2nd session, the dry line was forming and fog was lifting. By the 3rd session and through the rest of the day it was game on.

I was anxious to try out my new SIDI boots and I wasn't disappointed. They are the most comfortable racing boots I have owned. Easy to get on and easy to take off, but still has all of the important protection. I was very happy with them.

I also was testing a new set of Racer Gloves. They were a little stiff on my first 2 sessions, but once I picked up the pace and got a little sweat in them, the kangaroo skin started to break in and flex. I have used RacerGloves for the past 2 years so I pretty much knew what to expect and they are still the most comfortable glove I have ever owned.

The next event is TWS (Texas World Speedway) on May 9th & 10th and I will be counting down the days.
