STUPID FUKING DRUNK DRIVERS

Even as I type this, my hands are still a little shaky. I got up today @ 6 this morning to be at work and received this e-mail from my brother:

Give me a call asap. David has been in a car accident. He is ok but Kim was in the passenger side where they got hit. David is coherent he is ok but shaken up, he is nervous and scared. Kim is also coherent as well but I think she has some injuries but she should be fine also. The guy that hit them was drunk and the police took him to jail and will charge him with intoxicated assault. I have more information as I am up right now making calls to everyone else. Call me first when you get this message. Donít call mom or dad as they are busy with david and Iím sure a little stressed. Donít worry everything is ok but david is going to the hospital to get checked out just in case. I will wait for your call.

YOU STUPID !!!!! I HOPE YOU GET THE BOOK THROWN AT YOU!!!!

Sorry and please excuse my anger, but it's people like that, that worry me the most, ESPECIALLY when it comes to motorcycles. I know it happened to my brother and his friend in his car, but it just goes to show these stupid idiots are still on the road. The car he was driving is totalled, but my brother said the airbags deployed, so that's good. Latest update I heard from him, was that my bro was a little banged up with some bruising, but for the most part should be alright. His friend, not so well. She's got 2 cracked ribs and they're scanning her for more damage at the moment. I will update as I know more, but I just wanted to share this seeing as how I'm offshore and I cant readily get in.....

I agree. It was a drunk driver that hit my best friend, Josh, in 01, while he was riding his bike (big into bikinig - like lance armstrong) josh was in a coma for 6 months, he had brain swelling - we didn't think he would make it. He made it, but he's not the same, anyone with that large of a brain injury is never the same....

I'm sorry to hear but definitely glad your bro and his g/f are alive and well, even if they are slightly broken

Unfortunately, I have seen 1st hnd how drunk drivers get out of *getting the book thrown at them*

My 14 yr old BIL was killed by a drunk driver and the guy got off with plea bargaining his case down to 2 years eligible for parole...Sux..

Hope your peeps recover..

Take him to civil court and get a judgement.
Its hard to enforce that but it will be over the mutherphukers head..

Ohh...BTW the guy that killed my brother in law was charged with intoxicated manslaughter ...
Intoxicated assault is a lesser charge and probably wont do time.

Glad to hear they will be ok...being unable to do anything because you are away is probably the hardest part of having a job that takes you out of town.

Thank you all for your comments..........they are very much appreciated

Update:

They released my brother this morning from the hospital. Aside from the bumps and bruises, he should be ok. His friend Kim suffered 4 broken ribs cause they were T-boned from the passenger side. She'll have to stay in the hospital a little longer though to see if she suffered any more trauma. Luckily, the area they were in when the accident occured, they were literally a stone's throw away from a fire dept who heard the crash. So they immediately called Lifeflight and were able to be on scene in a matter of minutes.

It just sucks that i'm out here and cant be in to see my brother. Again I thank you for your comments and know that aside from my immediate family, I can look towards my MH family.....

I'm glad your brother is ok. I know first hand how much it sux when a family member is in an accident and you can't be there. But at least he's ok and doesn't have any serious injuries.

Yes I do. But I dont drink and drive. I've had alot of friends lost over like this and I make that choice to not involve myself drinking and driving. I'm only 23 and I hardly drink anymore cause it's not something that I find important in my life. Last time I got really drunk, was @ my birthday at brena's house and I had someone drive me back over to the SE side from spring area and left my truck there at her house.
