1 day class is not for your endorsement.

Hate to tell you EK, but the 1 day is the ERC (Experienced Rider Course). That class does NOT qualify you for your endorsement and the BRC is required to take it.

With that said, there are several places that offer the BRC. It is still a 15 hr minimum course (per DPS) and runs 2 days. BUT, if you pass the BRC, you no longer have to take the written or driving test at DPS now (if you are over 18). Under 18 still has to take the written and driving tests.

No idea. But as an MSF and DPS instructor, I can tell you we haven't heard anything about a new 'one day' BRC course. In fact, just switched over to the updated MSF material less than a year ago, and it's still 2 days total.

They will be updating the range exercises in a couple of years and I can tell you they will be harder.

the class

This has nothing to do with MSF. It's part of the Lee Parks Total Control curriculum and is approved by Texas DPS for licensing for qualified experienced riders. We'll put more info out about it as we can. It's new, so lots of folks don't yet know about it. It is NOT the Experienced Rider Course. I can't release full details at this time, but it is one day, range based and must be done on a student's own motorcycle. I'll have more about pricing and signup as things develop.

Don't get out much do you. Part of your contract with the state entails that you keep abreast of new updates and changes pertaining to curriculum. Did you attend the state conference in January-it was brought up then. Just saying' BTW been teaching the "new" update for almost a year.

EK, wait till June. Course is challenging-maybe not for you. How you been, haven't been out to the track in awhile.

I'm back in school so I don't have as much time to ride. I am going to set my Husky back up for street so I should get a license now. I don't think the race license will work.

I check the MSU site frequently and contact our area MSU rep often. As for the State conference, I was teaching a BRC that weekend, so no, I didn't go.

I'll admit I am a new RC (having taken the RCP in Nov 2014), but other than the changes in the names of courses and some of the new course to be offered, the MSU instructors made no mention of any 1 day licensing course.

BTW, been teaching the new curriculum almost a year myself (as apprentice and RC).
