91-year-old man has attended every Astros Opening Day
Cleve Lockett, 91, hasn't missed an Astros home opener since Houston started playing Major League Baseball in 1962.
Monday marks the 54th Astros home opener and the 54th Lockett has attended.
"It is very exciting," Lockett said. "It's good to be here. All my family is here, about nine of us. It's been a lot of fun to come. It is so special that I have been to every one of them.
Lockett has seen quite a bit of baseball, but for him it never gets old.
"It's very exciting that he's still able to come, still wants to come and still follows baseball avidly," daughter Brenda Lockett said.
"It's good to see him at this age to be able to be up and around," son Bill Lockett said. "He's come by himself, he's come with other people, but he's kept his dream going."
Lockett's wife passed away before last year's home opener, but he knows she is with him in spirit.
"We were married about 60 years," Lockett said "We came to a lot of games. Back in the old days I had seats, so we came to a lot of games back then.
