Man dies when car plummets 40 feet
HOUSTON - A driver died when he tried to back into a spot in a high-rise apartment building's parking lot, drove through a brick wall and crashed to a rooftop more than 40 feet below, officials said.
Houston Fire Department officials said 58-year-old Phillip Hines was trying to back his Ford Mustang into a space on the fifth floor at about 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Meredith Morin, a 37-year-old resident of the building, said she heard a loud noise and saw the car crash through the wall.
