Rockets SG Harden named NBA Western Conference Player of the Week

Rockets shooting guard James Harden is named the Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

The award is for Harden's performances during games played from March 30 to April 5. Houston went 3-1 during that period.

In a 99-96 loss on March 30 to the Toronto Raptors Harden scored 31 points and had 5 assists.

Harden scored a career high 51 points against the Sacramento Kings on April 1 in a 115-111 win. He also had six assists and eight rebounds.

In a 108-101 victory against the Dallas Mavericks, Harden had 25 points and six assists.

Against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Harden contributed 41 points, six assists and six rebounds Sunday against his former team in a 115-112 win.

It marks the eighth time in his career that Harden has won Player of the Week honors and the third time this season. Hakeem Olajuwon has the Rockets' franchise record with 12 Player of the Week awards.
