I lol'd at the corner speed difference being attributed to line choice. This is moto gp, the line is the line, deviate from it one foot and you're passed. Besides, I'm pretty sure honda riders could just change their line if it was that easy, voila yamaha corner speed.
Yup, pretty sure the Yami riders weren't even trying to win the race

Much being made of the Ducati's straight line speed.

The Honda is the monster, 2 litres less gogo juice than the Duke and on a used 5th engine out of 5 whilst "Joe" had just unwrapped engine 9 from 12..............................

I shouldn't have to explain that competitive folks hate losing more than they like winning, no matter the contest. It's fine if you want to be a yami apologist

What did Jorge lose? He gained 7 points on Vale. At the end of the season, there's a world champion, not a Phillip island champion.

Yep. Everyone forgets the goofball rules this year, depending on what class you are classified in.

"Factory 2" concessions were created when Ducati stated that they wanted to go under the "Open" Regulation last year. Suzuki and Aprillia get theses concessions as well for being "new" to the championship. Certain concessions are changed based on concession points earned by podium finishes.

1st place-3 concession points
2nd place-2 concession points
3rd place-1 concession point

It's not easy to explain or understand, but here is the gist of it

2015
All bikes must use spec ECU hardware
All bikes have three front tire options per race weekend

Factory: Yamaha/Honda/TechIII/LCR 1.0/MVDS
Engines: 5(sealed at beginning of season, no development)
Fuel: 20L
Software: proprietary
Tires: Harder two rear options

Factory w/Concessions: Ducati/Suzuki/Aprillia/Pramac Duc
Engines: 12 (open to development, number is reduced to 9 if a dry win is achieved)
Fuel: 24L (reduced to 22 until '16 season if 6 concession points are achieved in '14/'15, Ducati reached this in race 1 of '15)
Software: proprietary
Tires: Softer two options(switched to harder two options if a win is achieved)

"Open" Class: Avintia/Forward/Aspar/Ioda/Cardion AB/LCR 2.0
Engines: 12
Fuel: 24L
Software: Spec Dorna Provided software
Tires: Softer two options

He lost a race. You're kidding yourself if you don't think he wanted to win it. You realize MotoGP is not unique in sports that have a series champion, right?

Sure everyone wants to win every race, but it doesn't happen like that. Sometimes you have to take what's available, and for Jorge it was 2nd. Just like for Marquez 6 times this year (only counting race crashes), it was the crash truck. When Lorenzo or Rossi win the title in Valencia, count how many times people mention who won at Phillip Island. It doesn't matter at this point, they are riding for a title instead of wins.

Hmmm, wonder why the Yami crew kept JL updated on the gap he had on MM?

If MM wins more races than anyone on a yami this year, no one will notice

They always tell you who is behind you and how far. It's dumb to think they would only put up a pit board if it were Rossi behind him. And if you paid attention, Lorenzo's pitboard showed 2nd place, gap to 2nd, and 3rd place.

There's a reason they show the gap, it's to try to maintain the lead in that particular race. So the board never only showed the gap ahead of MM? I'm happy to re-watch the race when I get home

I'm with chase, JLo's board showed the gap to the person behind him and where Rossi was. Sure he wanted to win but mainly because that's an extra 5 pts on Rossi. Jorge has always been a championship rider, while Marc is generally a "if ya ain't first yer last" rider.

For example Valencia 2013, Jorge could have easily scampered off and won the race easily never seeing anyone. He slowed up and tried to force Marquez into an error, he didn't care about the win he wanted that championship.

Bevo, please stop acting like Repsol all of a sudden became relevant again.

The Repsol guys have nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Why would VR and Lorenzo trade paint with the when they are light years ahead of them in points?

Please please please stop acting ignorant for the sake of trying to make Honda look good.

I'm not positive if it never said only gap to 2nd, it could have in the earlier laps. Your point is moot, though. You're trying to somehow say Jorge was worried about beating Marquez just bc the pitboard guy did his job and displayed the same info he does every race so far this season. The next 2 rounds I'm sure the board will display the trailing rider, and where Rossi is. It doesn't mean he needs to hold a gap to the trailing rider as long as it isn't Rossi. I don't know you're background, but I would make a guess and say you've never been in contention for a racing championship based on your focus on a rider who was mathematically eliminated 2 rounds ago. I get it, you're a honda nut-swinger, but Marquez winning that race doesn't matter anywhere near as much as you want it to.

Every time?

You know that MM played it safe last year as well when he had the championship in the bag, but still he wanted to win every race like all riders at that level.

Too bad J-Lo's strategy of not caring about winning individual races cost him the 2013 title

Apparently it matters a whole of a lot to you as displayed by your activity in this thread about a race that ended last Sunday

Actually, he was quoted several times saying that once the title was wrapped up all bets were off and he was going to push. I'd lean more towards a collarbone being broken twice as being the detriment of Lorenzo's '13 campaign rather than his lack of will to win races, but okay.
