My favorite part of that story is the last paragraph.

“There are lots of things that make me feel very optimistic," Marquez had said just a few days ago.

"For one, I could have won all three races so far... Secondly, in 2013 after the first six races, Dani was leading the standings, Jorge was second and I was third, 30 points behind Dani, and I still went on to win the title.”

Can't augure with his second point...but the first...no so sure.

What did you expect?

Yamaha, incld both Lorenzo and Rossi, have been the top scorers since middle of last year. The momentum has been in their favor for sometime.

Sure Marquez had a great start in the first half of 2014 in terms of results, but it was equivelent to playing a game of football against another team who's top players were suffering from athsma. It was clear that the Yamaha was not prepared to drop to 20 liters at beging last year, but we were willing to overlook that small detail as history was bieng made.

Since then Yamaha got throttle response issues and fuel consumption sorted, and now they have also added this year the same seamless down shift capabilities as Honda has had. It just looks so much smother on the Yamaha.

Yet again in this race we see Marquez run the same pace as the year before, only to yet again have Lorenzo blow the top off that time by 20 seconds.

Also Ducati have managed to slip within that time too, albeit in slightly differnt set of rules.

Point is Honda and Marquez have not lost any pace. They've just failed to find more, while the others have.

Open class people crashed?

What about the season championship?

You can't win races if you can't finish them.

Good thing Hayden crashed out, otherwise he would have had to explain why he finished in last place.
