Ive read lots of reviews. 90% of the good reviews don't have any testing done, they just say it works great and the general theme is "OMG this jew oil is so much cheaper then regular sythetic". I don't even think you would have any problems putting it in you SV Shelly, but high revving SS? I'd for the stuff designed for that application.

Seems like 100% of the bad reviews either don't have any testing done, or went 5000+/- miles between changes...unless you know of some that show otherwise?

Anyhow I'll agree and say if I had an SS, or really any bike worth more than about 4 grand I would probably splurge for mobil 1 or something.

Look up recommended oil change intervals for Honda CBRs and Gold Wings

Haven't people essentially disregarded the manual to begin with by not using honda brand motor oil?

1. I use Honda oil and Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited says it's a quality oil
2. The manual does not recommend Honda oil or any brand. It only recommends weights and JASO certified oil

I'm not saying honda oil isn't superior to rotella, but any of their car manuals I have read insist on honda oil(or have in the past) which is nonsense.
It's just yet another example of marketing hype that causes people to over analyze something as simple as oil.

So according to your manual, it is okay to use rotella T6.

So according to your manual, it is okay to use rotella T6.
Define "insist". Does is void the warranty?

It may also say motorcycle specific oil, but I don't have the manual on me. Pretty sure it says not to use energy conserving oils

Not saying rotella isn't useable. But it doesn't seem like a good deal to me... You give up so much just to make yourself feel like you saved money. But you didn't.

Do you guys change oil filter at the same time too? Maybe you should add that to your oil change cost to see if you really saved any money...
The only people who said it was cheap are the people who were hating on it, saying it's for the jews

My opinion is it's better because you change it more often and it costs about the same overall, so you always have fresh oil.
Not only that, but as I indicated in previous posts, I change mine according to the time interval, not mileage. So I am actually saving.

If Rotella T6 = JASO T 903 standard: MA, then yes, Honda recommends it

I used to be a Mobil 1 4T racing oil advocate and would constantly "dis" Bob the oil guy, one day out of fairness to him, I decided to try this Amsoil that he raves about...

my zx10r loved it, said "THANK YOU" and gave me a hug.
Now, I wont use anything else, ever again. Now with over 60k miles and still running like new, I just need to figure out how I can make my Q3's last longer, I spend more money on tires than I do on gas.

but Amsoil is definitely the Best oil I have ever used!!

I'm looming on the back of the rotella bottle this very minute and it does meet those requirements...this is rotella t conventional. Not the T6 synthetic.

Well if it's good for a turbo car, it's gotta be good for high revving bikes!
