Werd! I filled out the application and put the sticker on my picture of the DL to make it legit. My family and a few friends know I'm a donor when I show them. My family is against it though.

I've thought about it a few times....I figure someone saved me, maybe I should return the favor to someone else....yet, for some reason I'm still hesitant.

I am a registered donor. In Texas, in order to be a registered donor you can either do so at the DPS office or by registering on-line here: https://www.texasdear.org/TXDEAR_secure/default.aspx.

Once you register on-line you will receive a letter from them which requires your signature along with two witnesses and needs to be notarized. Once you return that you will be issued a card you carry in your wallet next to your DL.

Of course you want to let your family know your intentions as well, however just letting your family know without registering could keep your organs from being used if no one is able to contact a family member in time.

Also, a common misconception is that your family will not have to pay for a burial if you donate your organs. This is not true. The hospital will return your body to your family or designee (sans harvested organs) for burial/cremation.

A list of FAQ's is here: http://www.livingbank.org/site/PageS...ns_and_Answers

Not an organ donor but do give blood regularly..
Wouldnt it be great to have an organized ride to give blood? Unless some of the people here dont recover that fast. I know some people that give blood and the rest of there day is toast.
