J.J. Watt restructures deal with Texans for cap space
J.J. Watt restructured his contract to help create cap space for the Texans, according to an ESPN reporter Field Yates.
Watt's $10 million roster bonus was turned into a signing bonus, which created $8 million in cap space.
Watt, the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, recorded 20.5 sacks, four forced fumbles and 78 tackles. He also scored five touchdowns for the Texans in 2014, three on offense and two on defense.
Watt signed a six-year deal with the Texans before the 2014 season that will pay him just over $100 million.
