Horrible accident. Raced quads for a few years as a teenager. RIP

Four wheelers scare me. Only ridden them a handful of times but they just seemed way too vague at speed.

Quads and bikes are allowed on the track at the same time?

In my personal opinion, they shouldn't be, but I've seen them there at 3 Palms, and on the night track at Rio

Word. Going fast on an ATV feels like suicide to me. I like to use them as drunk slow wheelie toys and for carrying stuff back and forth. That's about it.

, lots of quad hate in here....

this doesnt have anything to do with quads and bikes on the track at the same time. wth?

and moan for any reason I guess, some dirt bike guys are almost as whiney at MTB guys....

a couple years ago a guy was killed on a dirtbike out there during a race. I completely fail to understand how this has anything to do with quads specifically. you can get killed riding anything, that why you ride with atgatt

Last time we were at 3 palms they had a rzr going the wrong way on the track. near had a head on collision. Never going to 3 palms again. Over crowded and too many 4 wheelers. Will ride somewhere else.

Well, I for one didn't mention anything about quads other than their steering feels really vague at speed. At least to me.

I meant by my post when I say "I stay away from them".. meaning I don't ride them... but I agree... to each his/her own. I just don't feel safe on them... but you're right.. someone could as easily get hurt on a db.

A quad is a lot more weight/surface area/objects sticking out to cause harm injury etc in an accident. That's real easy to see. But everybody makes their own decisions, this is America.

my $.02

Nobody was hating. One guy was just surprised they were allowed in the track at the same time. He didn't say it caused the accident. It was just a simple off topic statement. The others just mentioned they are scary to ride fast. No need to get all defensive.

I used to get pretty crazy on quads as a teen and have gone down quite a few times. IMO they are more dangerous than moto's, no question about it.

Huck died out there on a dirt bike and he has been racing all kinds of bikes for over 30 years. Quads are inherently MORE dangerous do to size, weight, center of gravity etc though. Sad day for any rider when these things happen. Scares the out of me letting my kids ride dirt bikes, but you can break your arm falling out of bed or get killed walking through a parking lot.

I do have one. A bright freakin' yellow one. And you ride with me so by default you are ghay as well. I will be riding mine this evening. Taking my daugher fishing. Can you believe they let the ghays have kids?

any motorized 'toy' can be dangerous... be it bike, quad, trike etc.

It's not what you ride, it comes down to how you ride it...
