registering a trailer

So I recently bought a used harbor freight folding trailer to haul the RM and I was trying to see what I got myself into before I head up to the tax office. The trailer does have a vin plate riveted to the tongue and a title with current registration. I see that registration would be $45 + fees. What am I looking at as far as title transfer fees? Should I just remove the VIN plate and tag and go register it as a homemade trailer?

Subd'. Same boat. Bought my harbor freight trailer in Oklahoma when I lived there. You don't have to tag or register a trailer there, so I have no paperwork for it.

Thanks, it's just a plate attached to the frame with 2 rivets. I think I'm just going to drill them oit and be done. I know the VIN helps if it's stolen, but I'm pretty sure any thief would just as easily drill these out.

Thanks for the help guys.
