Yea that's it...I could see doing some serious miles on one compared to some other bikes.

That's why I like my Bandit, comfy getting to the twisties, and plenty good once I get there.

Just a bit too much buzz in the motor, maybe I will look at the new 1250's.

Yep.

But the Cadillac of sportbikes is the Bus. You could make an argument for the ZX-14 (until the new Busa comes out) but I think it's so ugly that it would be the Cadillac Allante of sportbikes

My Busa! She is Sexy to look at, and ride on very well mannered extremely stable a speed :-) no shaking she just want to go faster and faster oh yeah did I mention that she can lean wit it and rock wit it! You just gotta show her how to work wit it.... Don't be scared..... and never hate on it! The reason that they have variety is for you to choose something that both fits you your style and you wallet :-) Long live the the Hayabusa!

You'll find that the Busa has a better riding position than any other sportbike. You're less leaning over the tank and more of an upright position. I've done some long 2 up rides out to West Texas, Padre Island and Dallas. The soft sided bags that I put over the pax seat worked out just fine and we arrived without feeling that sportbike cramp from being bent.

I've done some highspeed sweepers but I've never really tried to take the bike canyon carving in the hill country. I know my limits and don't want to push it or try to make the bike something that it's not.

You'll like the Busa if that's what you'll decide, you won't regret it.

I think he may have meant 500 maybe. 400 is hard if not impossible to get to on a street going Busa. Especially starting with a 550 or so wet weight to begin with.

Youve heard of carbon fiber wheels?
Carbon fiber fairings?
Carbon fiber fuel tanks?
Carbon fiber frames even...

400 lbs with a Carbon fiber engine block and internals maybe? :laughing6 :laughing6 :laughing6 :laughing6

well he said "not too far from..[400]" but he didn't exactly how much it weighs. 490 is not too far from 400 if you're an optimistic person! :icon_bigg

400 is impossible. I have a couple of friends on the West Coast who have dropped big $$$ into c/f for their Busas and didn't come close to 400#. I have some c/f and titanium goodies on my bike but even after a no expense spared project i realized that it was easier to exceed the power to weight ratio by boosting the hp than lightening the bike.

plus I would hate to put so much $$ into making my bike lighter when I could just lose 20 lbs off myself, AND THATS FREE (and THAT aint gonna happen!!!!!!!!!)
