My choices in order of fondness would be...

Repsol Replica 1000RR
ZX10R in red
GSX-R 1000
R1

If something different is desired can't beat the new 1098...

6 in one hand, half-dozen in the other... sit on 'em and ride 'em (if you can) and see which feels best.

your riding ability (or inability) will determine how fast you are... my first time on the track (MSRH) I got my handed to me all day long by 'lil 600's! :laughing6

the faster I get the more I think about going back to a 600...

that said, I would not buy an '06/'07 Hondy... they are way down on power compared to the 10 or the GSXR...

I agree with you.

At this point if it had to be a liter bike it would be between the Kawi and the CBR1000RR.

The GSXR1k's looks just don't do it for me and the R1 is really new.
There have been some little issues and Yamaha hasn't had the best track record when it come to introducing new models that are trouble free.

The ZX10 has mugambo power, handles well and I'm really starting to like it's looks.

The CBR1000rr is probably a little more versatile and is a good looking bike.

I personally love the 06/07 body style! I hope they dont change it too much but if they do, ill just be even more glad i bought my 07! :icon_bigg

Well we know there will be some changes for sure... And from all the speculation I've read, it seems Kawi wants to be on top again just like they were in 04-05... But you may be right, no one knows yet whats in store for 08.
Im really not a big fan of the 06-07 10's. Although I do like yours without the 2 huge cans....

Yeah but the 04/05's have frame issues as far as welds cracking and alot of other stuff too that kawi fixed for the 06/07's. And the 04/05 didnt pack any more power than the 06/07's do. As a matter of fact, the 06/07's are just more gradual as far as the power band goes. Same power but through the whole rpm range instead of lacking in some spots and having it all applied in one good hit. The 06/07 also came with a damper along with other upgrades that the 04/05 didnt and alot of other changes were made to better the bike. I personally dont dig the 04/05 but its just my preference. Technology only moves forward my friend.

And it claimed masterbike champion, yes, but the competition wasnt what it is now back then. Suzuki has come a long way and has caught up to kawi to give them some competition. I dont really find anything about the gsxr attractive and it has that cheesy factory a,b,c map adjuster bs. I havent ridden an 07 yet but the 06 gsxr i rode didnt impress me. My kawi felt so much more aggressive! Kawi and Suzuki are fighting for top spot. Both bikes are bad but ill take my 10r over any gsxr anyday!

What i would like to see for grins is a shootout between the gen 1 and gen 2 10r's even though they wont do it. I dont think the gen 1's would have anything on the gen 2's. Cheers to all the 10r owners either way though. Smart choice...

I think Superbike Magazine did a test of the Gen 1 ZX-10R vs the Gen 2 ZX-10R. From the different magazine test reports I have read, most preferred the Gen 1 ZX-10R. However, I am sure many improvements were made with the Gen 2.

the only "improvements" that were made were efforts to tame the bike. if you want raw literbike power and 600SS agility, the 04-05's can't be beat. my bike weighs less than the brand new helium filled cbr600rr does... and has 70 more hp.

You should go with whatever bike you feel comfortable with and you think looks the best. If your not spending most of your time on the track then talking about which bike has more power and handles better on the street is useless. They all will do whatever you want them to do on the street and pushing them to their limits on the street is too dangerous. So just pick which bike you like. I personally like the Hondas for their looks, and reliability. They have plenty of power for me on and off the track. just my .02
