Akrapovic Headers

Hey guys i was thinking on getting some akrapovic headers that are compatible with my competition werkes exhaust. I'm also going to buy a power commander and get a tune up done with the installation of the headers but i was wondering how much HP would i be adding to my bike if all goes well. Also how would it sound compared to just stock headers? I'm guessing they will allow more air flow, giving it a deeper/louder sound. Just wondering on how much of a difference.

Your saying you have stock head pipes and Competition Werkes mufflers?
And you want to install Akropovic headers and retain the CW mufflers?

In that case you will, assuming a proper tune, probably get a few horse power increase. I'd be willing to bet the Power Commander and good tune will give more of an increase than the header pipes will.

Instead of spending your money on headers you'll gain more horsepower if you get a helmet Mohawk and rim stripe tape.
Seriously, do the power commander and get a proper tune. Any gains you might see from full header system are not likely to be worth the money and will be useful almost entirely at full throttle. Unless you area true brass balled badass you'll never notice.

Do you have a straight through header on that bike or is there a cat? If it's got a cat in there then yes, most absolutely get a race header (much cheaper options out there than Akra). You will see higher gains with a full header, but not for the money you'll be spending on the Ak.
