Right, because if you were a police officer you'd be handing out citations left and right to other officers you work with, correct?

Perhaps he was reprimanded for the incident by his superiors and we don't know about it. Or maybe they figured eating and it being reported on the news for the entire city to see was punishment enough.

Because cops are special right? Who cares if they break the law. It builds great community support for law enforcement to see them break the law without facing the same consequences as anyone else would. That's great PR.

Same here and what ever happened to the state law that says "if you can steer it clear it. "

As for the Ferrari, who parks one on the street. That thing would be in my bedroom. The owner probably going to sue the state and get a brand new one.
I was thinking the same thing. He must be wanting a new one for sure.

And a lousy parking job at it. That Ferrari is 2-3ft from the curb.

The CoH Chief of police McLellan? HAHAHAH

He is even worse, he hit a guy crossing the street and what was his punishment: Defensive Driving

He was also suspended for one day because of an earlier traffic incident.

How much you think the city paid the guy he hit?

The pedestrian is lucky the Chief didn't get out and cuff him for obstruction of justice.

That's why. You'll get the classic "We investigated ourselves and found we did nothing wrong". Also, the chief, as urbanXJ pointed out, is a POS in his own right.

one of my dad's coworkers I've known since I was born was ran over on his bike by LEO out in Montgomery responding to a call and blowing a stop sign (sign was obscured by a tree and it was night time).

Lost mobility in most of his body for a year and spent months in the hospital
Lost his ability to work ( Toyota mechanic for 20+ years)
On unemployment and disability now, has limited mobility on the left side of his body now and hardly any on the right

Still fighting for some $$ for medical bills and compensation since he was hit while the cop was on duty.

I agree that it's complete BS that they block the whole interstate off for a freaking fender bender.

Different PD's seems to have different policy on it. I just love it when I am driving on the beltway through Pearland and the have ALL lanes closed off, completely stopped all because they decided to pull someone over for a traffic violation...I actually quit taking the beltway and started using 45 for that very reason.

I'll buy having to block some lanes off for safety, but when they shut the whole interstate down on the weekend over a fender bender with no visible damage, they are just being dicks displaying their authority and being inconsiderate.

Furthermore if pulling someone over for speeding, ect. is going to risk their lives, perhaps they should consider letting it slide instead of shutting the whole road down, up everyone's commute on a road that people pay to use.

is it possible the cop had target fixation on the ferrari? also was he indeed lane splitting? difficult to do that on a big ol cop bike with bags

edit: also the story doesnt make sense because he says the cop was passing (on the left i assume, since thats the lane you would pass in on a two lane road) then says the car ahead of him turned right...seems like he may have veered left slightly and nipped the officer as the lady in front slammed on her brakes to turn the direction away from the lane in which the cop was passing thru.

The cop was passing on the right, in the bicycle lane...Heights Blvd is a one lane road. The lady was pretty much doing what she probably does every day, turning into her driveway, just not expecting some goober on a M/C to be passing on the right.
