what me off is that the fire department thinks its necessary to continually block the road.

They do that for safety. So no one comes flying through and takes out emergency responders liking bowling pins.

As for the Ferrari, who parks one on the street. That thing would be in my bedroom. The owner probably going to sue the state and get a brand new one.

Of course they do, They also block 3 lanes on the high way at 5pm on a fender bender, and cause all of Houston to sit in traffic for 3 more hours.

Guess you haven't paid much attention to Houston drivers. They're impatient, entitled, and can't drive for . If only one lane was blocked, cars would whip back over as soon as they got past the fire truck, which would put the cars right smack in the middle of the accident scene. The fire department blocks traffic for the safety of the EMS crews, PD and the wrecker drivers. If you want to get mad at someone, get mad at the texting that caused the wreck in the first place.

Drivers don't see motorcycles because they're not used to looking for them. Same applies to emergency crews working on the side of the road: drivers aren't used to looking for people standing on the freeway, so they never see them until it's too late. Fire trucks and ambulances get hit all the time. If drivers can't see a big white or red vehicle with blinking lights all over, do you really expect them to see the crews on the side of the road? Emergency crews have enough to worry about on scene without inattentive, impatient drivers buzzing by their .

A long bottleneck (blocking multiple lanes), followed by a long transition back into access to all lanes, decreases other accidents caused by people whipping from the left lane to the right lane and flooring it to get around cars that aren't going as fast as they think they should.

No . They block the streets because too many have died. Its one of those written in safety procedures

Which cities in the US have better drivers than Houston? The UK has much lower fatality rate. Seem the cop was as fault here anyways.

Not likely, that's on Heights Blvd, right where it's parked almost every day. That's a "company car". They have a couple of AMGs, a Maserati, a Lambo, a Bentley and a Jag or 2 and they often park them on the street in front of their office.

Sherlock Holmes says he was stunting. You can clearly see where he was draggin his tail pipes during a 12:00 wheelie.

He also doesn't pay for his gear - His helmet looks like he just dropped in on the road. After standing the bike up it was tossed up on the grass. The others are still wearing their's.

The woman isn't a reporter with the cameraman - not enough makeup and she's obviously hiding a badly deformed right knee. Probably a big nasty scar or something. Looks like Ferrari keys in her hand. no?

I responded to Cupial's comments, not this specific incident.

It appears as though the cop hit TWO cars, the person telling the story was driving the Ferrari, unspecified make of car was pulling in the driveway.
That's my take at least.

Any takers on whether the cop gets a ticket for lane splitting and an unsafe pass?
