Hogg's bucket at the horn gives Plano West 6A boy's title

D.J. Hogg's game-winning basket at the final horn gave nationally ranked Plano West a 56-54 win over Houston Clear Lake and the Class 6A boys' basketball title.

Hogg, the game MVP, scored 16 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter, including converting a Clear Lake turnover with 11.9 seconds left into a running one-hander from the top of the key for the win.

Plano West (33-2) trailed 40-34 after three quarters before Hogg's epic finish. He also had had five rebounds, while 6-foot-9 guard Mickey Mitchell had nine points, six rebounds and 10 assists and 6-10 post Tyler Davis had 14 points and six rebounds.

Christian West led Clear Lake (35-3) with 16 points, while Bradley George had 14 points and Chris Stenerson had 10 points and eight rebounds.
