Houston Texans may be busy as NFL free agency period kicks off

The NFL free agency period officially opens Tuesday afternoon and the Texans should be busy.

Houston already re-signed QB Ryan Mallett and multiple reports indicate the team is close to signing former Cleveland Browns QB Brian Hoyer.

The Texans officially released WR Andre Johnson on Monday, so the team may pursue a wide receiver.

Brian Hartline, the former Dolphins receiver the Texans were interested in, reportedly signed with the Browns.

Houston re-signed defensive back Kareem Jackson and offensive lineman Derek Newton, and released center Chris Myers.
