Yamaha announce full seamless gearbox for 2015

Yamaha now aim for victory at the first MotoGP round in Qatar

Yamaha announce full seamless gearbox for 2015

DURING a press conference in Japan, Yamaha announced that they will be using a full seamless shift gearbox on the YZR-M1 starting at the beginning of the 2015 MotoGP season.

Takaaki Kimura, Vice President of Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd., announced the use of the full seamless gearbox and explained: "During the second Sepang test, we were able to confirm the performance of our seamless gearbox.

"However we must keep on developing the chassis and electronics to utilize it to its full potential. We will continue to work on the setup at the upcoming test in Qatar, while aiming for the victory at the first round of the 2015 season in Qatar later this month."

Whilst developing the 2015 YZR-M1 as a whole, Yamaha focused on other technical upgrades such as a full seamless shift, both upshift and down shift, which is the main technology for improvements regarding braking.
