What do you mean by setup? Just like how and where to mount it? Is it for track videos, or motovlogging? Just trying to catch retards on the road doing stupid stuff.

There are a couple of us Ridesmart guys that have a dvr mounted camera system that records both front and rear. I'll be testing mine at cota this wknd. So far in the neighborhood it works just fine. Mainly will be used for instructing/critiqing/always-on filming. With a 32gb card it records approximately 48hrs of footage before it starts recording over the oldest recordings. It records in 1, 2, and 5min increments. So you people who are within the 6ft rule beware

This is very interesting. My GoPro was recently stolen but this seems like an even better replacement.

I'd also suggest the Sony Action camera over a go pro. You'll get the same, if not better quality video and save yourself about $100. And while you're at it, you can get on amazon and snag an attachment that allows you to use go pro mounts rather than the selection of Sony mounts.

Yes, I bought one of those aluminum made-in-china-shipped-to-your-door-for-$5.95 mounts with a 1/4-20 thread (meant for tripod). Then drilled out a m10-1.25 bolt on the lathe (1/4" hole). Took a 1/4-20 SHCS, turned the head down so it fit inside the m10 threads. The whole stack goes together like in the second pic. Once you thread it all in the mirror mount you take a look to see how far off index it is (you want the camera pointed straight ahead don't you?), then take it back apart and rotate the hollow m10 thread to correct, tighten it back down and re-install, and re-check. Took a couple of tries but now it is straight ahead, and it by far the most rigid mount you could want.

How reliable is this? It's great that it isn't 300 to 400 bucks for a camera.

My Rc buddies on another forum recommended it to me. They have been using them in 250 storm races and say they are durable as . They hit trees and walls with them a with no problems. They are saying the picture is the same quality too. I haven't recieved mine yet, but when I do, I'll post some vids.

The new Gopro 4 is only like $80 isn't it?

Acutally, Gopro Hero is $129 retail.

Try $400 for the silver and $500 for the black.

Back when it was 200 and 300 they were a decent deal, but 400 for a silver.

Ya, but the "Hero" they are selling for $129 more directly competes with the $79 chinese knockoff...

Not saying that the one linked above is not a great deal, but it is more directly competative with the cheap Hero than the $500 black which is CLEARLY a superior camera by specs alone.

I have a Hero 3+ Black and do not need anything more. I also got it for $200 completely outfitted.

I bought a hero 3+ black and it was the biggest piece of junk. Would freeze, shut off while filming, lines would run through the video. horrible..

Personally I think gopro is over priced and the link ai posted above should be the going rate for a gopro. Those things aren't worth $500 and most people don't even have the equipment to down load and watch 4k video.
