Found my next bike FJ09

Went to yamaha south today and saw this FJ09. I had no clue it even existed! Needless to say Im really digging it...will be adding this to my collection in the near future.

Throw on some Distanzia tires and u got a very nice, capable dualsport tourer

Its funny thinking back about my evolution of riding style. First was my SV650S, then came my 06 ZX6R, 07 ZX14R, 07 ZX6R, 07 R6, 2009 DRZSM, DD1200, 09 CBR600, 01 XR650R, 690SMC....its an evolution of getting old but trying to stay young thru hooliganism

Im looking for a more capable distance tourer that the wife and I can get out on. And something I can adventure ride without being on a 700# beheemoth.

That's really cool - the basics of what you want for a road trip (luggage, power ports, bigger screen) without adding an extra 200# and 1500cc of displacement. Good job!

Seems a tad small for two on long rides. I really hope they addressed the fly by wire throttle issue, because it was a deal changer for me, especially if you had the thing on dirt. The on/off characteristic of the throttle would wash out the rear for sure..

According to the second video in that playlist in the OP, the fueling is vastly improved over the original FZ09.

Did they fix the suspension also? I still see the gold forks.

Yes, the second reviewer said the compression & rebound had been doubled over the first FZ09

So Im getting closer Will go take a look at some this week....Im torn though...The FZ09 can be had for $8500 OTD and then outfitted with a hard trunk for $500 or the FJ09 seem to be $10.5 OTD without luggage

I also have an offer from someone to buy their FJR1300...only issue with that is it has 60k miles which isn't a lot for that bike its just more than any bike Ive ever looked to buy....
