I see this all the time, mainly with newer members. They come on here and state that there about to ride 5 mins before they leave and expect a grand turn out. A lot of times the OP with just state he bored and just wants to ride around town because hes bored or something with no real "direction" for said ride. Most of us dont want to waste time and gas just to go light to light just to ride and not hit up some curves. Its also not that most of us aren't "ready to ride" it just that we have jobs, kids, and lives and cant just jump up at a moments notice when one person wants to ride.

So Here are some tips if you want to start a ride

Don't post 5 min before you want to ride, or you will be riding solo. Start a thread 5 days to a week stating you plan to start a group ride.

Have a "target Audience", is the ride going to be Noob friendly, intermediate, or BORC. Also i recommend you to define your terms of the word "noob" or "Intermediate". My noob pace could easily be too fast for some one who only has a month of experience so just state whether or not you will be doing the posted limit in the corners and straights.

Have a destination already preset. Dont just say you want to ride somewhere. Be a leader, and state where you are going. If your going to the forest ride state that, if others dont want to go that route then they can start their own group.

Try and give an ETA of when the group should get back. This gives people a chance to plan other things later in the day.

Have a good meet up spot that is preferably off a major road that easy to find and preferably close to the first roads you plan to hit up. State a meet up time and a KSU (kick stands up). You might have to be a hard on the ksu, if one of your friends is running 30min late you cant wait that long, you'll just off the group. I say 5 min over and then leave.

If its a long ride make sure to have gas stops and bathroom breaks. Sport bikes are uncomfortable.

If its a large group with "noobs", its a good idea to have a sweeper. Sweeper should have a few years of riding under their belt and lots of patience with slower riders.

Hold a riders meeting at the meet spot. Remind people off the route and pace. If you know off any debris, traffic or etc let the group know during this. Get phone numbers for emergency.

I ride once the weather permits and after i get home from work and eat dinner with my kids and showered and ready to roll, now Sunday's are the only real day I actually get to plan a ride and get a early start and get to enjoy my ride. IF I get out during the week it's just a quick cruise around the loop and I don't stop to "chill" anywhere , I rode beltway to 288 to 45 back home yesterday and was done in like 30 minutes . I never post if it's just a quick ride because by the time "you or anyone else " responds and gets ready and heads out to meet me . I have been home before you were dressed and met me
