Don't think I said anything about comparing. Just stated that's making this that much worse, knowing that at anytime on same day I could be riding there.

Not comparing, just stating. My fav's were palomar mtn and this county rd on other side of Julian. You cant find that type of riding here regretfully.

The weather was great for riding yesterday and this morning. You have to be ready to take advantage of 1-2 hours of dry weather to get some riding in.

I will ride in any temperature between 10 F (-12 C) and 130 F. What I cannot stand is riding in the rain and snow/ice. Where I used to live, many riders would pack their motorbikes away for winter storage, but I always kept a couple ready to ride on days that were crisp and dry. It's lovely riding in winter when the roads are clean and dry and snow covers the landscapes. In winter, wool base layers, fleece, and heated gear is my friend.

I grew up in West Texas, where the climate was dry, similar to San Diego. I was accustomed to doing outdoor activities about any time I wanted to.

And then I moved to Houston. I still very much dislike the humidity and the stinkin' rain. And it has been especially bad lately. I have riddden in some very cold weather, and can dress warm enough for it. Also have ridden in rain. But I don't find it enjoyable. You have to make all acceleration, turning and braking very gentle and cannot use the bike's potential.

And I have lived in Houston since before many of you were born - and I still don't like the weather here. It can be good at times, but not like San Diego.

Tex-Lurch: I was not aware you had move! I ride everyday around your old neighborhood in W. Little York and Tanner Rd. Are you still working in the off-shore rigs?

Sorry for going off-topic.
