syd, i forgot you are so fast that you ran 2:15's your first track day back to the track in three years. this is after you had your "license" and did a few track days on that same track. funny, i ran the same time there the only time i ever went. werent you racing or is being a curb monkey considered the same thing. :eh:

Nevermind, you'll have no problems keeping up and passing most people in A group.*

Just remember Syd, overconfidence is what can get you in trouble...*

Re: July 29th at TWS (Texas World Speedway)...

Well..... I am going to make an comment here but lets see what happens.

I think at this point with Syd and his riding at the track, he is going to need all the confidence in the world. It is the only thing that will get you around the track faster. I guess there is a fine line to walk with confidence and over confidence. :dontknow:

Re: July 29th at TWS (Texas World Speedway)...

assssssshhoooooooooooooo!... j/k...*

syd's hoverin around 00 these days... ran prolly a 57 best at the last track i day @ TWS (Texas World Speedway)...

2:15's aren't slow for provnov... b/c if you crash - no license... so most peepz don't push it until after they've got their "must race two race weekends without a crash" done...

he can run low 2's all day long... but to get to the next level - i think he's on the right track... hangin w/ty certainly can't hurt...

plus you guys need to remember the guy is racing w/a stock suspension...*

confidence is there... patience and a suspension setup are what i think he could benefit from the most...

whereas *I* could probably benefit from... a hacksaw!... so i could saw my 520 lb down!!!... ugh!!!*

sorry... sorry... zen happy place... i'm gonna buy an sv in the offseason... gonna buy an sv in the offseason...

sigh...* :eh:

Re: July 29th at TWS (Texas World Speedway)...

Suspension builds confidence. Of course you can always be confident in your riding and not be an ... i think that is the ultimate goal. right:

Re: July 29th at TWS (Texas World Speedway)...

Syd is quick, I'll give him that. But I think he's trying to accomplish too much in too short of a time. He's got natural talent at riding and he's around some good riders which is going to help out a ton.

I completely agree that confidence is everything... but over-confidence is very detrimental. Suspension isn't the reason he's crashed in 2 of his last 3 trackdays.

Hopefully you'll get there dude... that's a tough spot to break.

<parental mode on> Just don't push too hard... when you start to feel like superman is when you need to start to slow down. After I hit my 2:05 last year I proceeded to crash the next lap because I tried to push for a 2:02 lap. Unfortunately I didn't heed the advice the more experienced folks were giving me.
