Mh Members...Let's hear it....

DO NOT THIS THREAD OR I WILL REPORT YOUR POSTS....EVEN IF WE ARE FRIENDS

I want to have a serious discussion here. I know sometimes we all have disagreements with other riders here and there. Today I saw some worthwhile posts as well stating that "If you dont want to be part of a certain riding group, then dont ride". I know we get tired of hearing about all the accidents as well. My whole debate is the same as some other MH members. If you are riding with a group and dont feel comfortable, then dont ride with them. I know it sucks when we have to make another rider down thread, but if you dont want that to be you, dont ride outside your ability.

It seems that sometimes people get bashed on here for they're choice of riding style, and yes, sometimes they do make us look bad in the public eye, but if these are the people that dont follow the "status quo", then just ignore them. No reason to come out here and publicly bash some people. I know I have been guilty of that sometimes, but for the most part I ignore it, cause it doesnt pertain to me cause I dont ride with them. Given the fact that I choose a parking lot instead of a street, once I do get back on the street, if I see someone that I dont feel too comfortable riding with, I wont continue on, period.

As far as drama on this site, there will always be that. YES, this is a motorcycle based community site, but there will always be debates on what's better on topics such as trackriding, stunting and which parts are better for your motorcycle of choice. The whole point to that, is to DEBATE it in a civilized manner....

Let's hear some debates on this. Remember, this is a serious thread for serious replies only. I dont want this post-whored.....:nono:

talk all you want, express all opinions of riders in general, but dont talk about MH rider in a bad light. Keep that to PM's

RIght. See, that's the point i'm beginning to understand. I mean, I know we will all have disagreements at one time or another, I just wish that we could ALWAYS speak of another, on this publicly based forum, in an adult like fashion. Alot of people here have good intentions and do lend alot of helpful tips and hints. It just needs to get to the point of being the bigger man/woman and walking away from a discussion that you dont readily agree. Or take it to PM's like you have suggested, so as to negate all the drama....

Good question.

1) they are in MH chat and therefore have the option to be whored, but in this forum and topics such as this, I want some opinions on what you all feel....

I agree with you Del. There is a time and a place for everything under the sun...But There always seems to be that one person who doesnt get it and rips on somebody in a personal way..Calling out peeps like that only starts the drama.

Everyone has an opinion. The problem arises when opinions clash. Nobody needs to be right and nobody needs to be wrong as long as everyone involved understands that there are merely opinions.

As you stated, if you don't like how someone else rides you have the right to not ride with them. Same goes for forums - if your opinion is not going to be treated with respect then it is your decision to stay or to go. Leaving (or lurking instead of saying as much) does not make you "weak" or wrong. It makes you a person that choses not to get involved in drama.

So yeah, I present an unpopular opinion here on MH based on the "average" opinion on this board. I accept that. I don't fight it. I'm not here to change the way everyone thinks. When I think I can make a positive impact by saying something, I will. Otherwise, I just sit back and skip the drama.

I don't believe, the reality is that simple... trying to finish my shift, but hopefully later I can provide something that clarifies that a bit.
'Know your limits' and 'ride within your ability' are nice little catch
phrases...easily said, but as we've seen demonstrated... are easily
miscalculated.

Understandable. But this also goes hand in hand with the longer you ride the more able you are to foresee these things.....

We would translate into 'experience'... and maybe
should be clarified with 'should be able to foresee these things'.

Roger. My whole point being is that, if your a seasoned rider, you know what to look out for, and if your a rookie startin out, it's forum's like this that will help to ensure that you understand who your riding with and to what extent they ride.......

Strong workds, Del.. I agree with all, certain types of riding are to be done at certain places, and I for one am strong enough to admit that I deviate from my beliefs every once in a while. I think you have a good thing going here, and i give you my support. I feel it should be more focused though, such as just to try to drill into the heads of newbies that they need to be comfortable with themself before getting into group rides, or something similar..
keep up the good work, hope I did not distract form the focus.
