thinking about buying r6

Hey I've been riding for a year on a 250 lately I feel like I needed a change. I never had the change riding a Supersport bike so I don't know what Is it like but as much as I saw online it's pretty crazy so I dunno what to think.
I want a r6, would you be ok with 1 year experience?

Thanks for reading

1 year of experience can vary greatly. It all depends on what you feel comfortable with. Your 250 will take a while to hit 100 mph and a 600 will do it in a blink of an eye. Can you handle that? Can you control the throttle and only accelerate as much or little as you want? Everything comes at you quicker on a big bike.

Try to do a test ride or ask a friend if you can take theirs for a spin.

yeah get one if you want more power, just be responsible with the power thats all. its not "hard to handle" and dont be nervous of extra power, people make it sound so crazy. just be mature on it, respect the bike and you'll be fine.

also when we're talking about 600's for riding, the R6 is a great track weapon (if you ever want to get into that) and I find it fine on the street but its going to have the most aggressive seating out of all the 600's. so its not the most comfortable one thats for sure. check out the fz07 if you want a bigger bike but plan on only doing street riding.

Try to hit up a couple trackdays if you can, even if you plan on just riding street. it helps.

He has a Kawasaki, you need a Honda. I hear they spill oil on the track better!

Right now there are a few nice looking r6's on the market.

If it's not a ktm I'm not worried.

If you are worried that you can handle a 600 sport bike then maybe go to an fz07 or sv650 that will be a good in between.

yeah for sure. just get those trackdays done asap, its nice to do em on the 250 if you can since you can really throw em around in the corner or the R6, doesnt matter. try to get a r6 that is 08+ btw and try not to get a R6S . it'll make a big difference if you ever decide to get into track more.

I have an R6 for sale, you can visit and talk about my experience going from a 500 Ninja to this. I'm going to keep sitting on it until someone buys it, not so desperate to list it on craigslist (where I bought it actually).

SV, Ninja 650 or the like would be a better stepping stone.

However, you will not have any street cred with the MH peeps.

IMO, if you want a 600 for the street, the r6 isnt the best choice (still your choice though)

The yzf600r is nice and comfy, plenty of power to still get into trouble with. Cheap on insurance and bulletproof.

The 03-05 r6 and 06-08 r6S is the second choice for the street. Its still more comfortable than the current r6, less on insurance as well.

Get what you want. Sit on a few of them, ride a few if possible. The current r6(I have a "current gen") is really in its element at the track where comfort isn't needed..

Its your money.
