Sturgis 2015

Just joined to see if anybody is riding to Sturgis this summer for the Rally? So far theres 3 of us riding but wouldn't mind riding up with another group, bigger the group the better/more fun it would be. Or if people have anything they'd like us to know about the ride/rally since this is our first time going.

Thank You
Bryan

It can get cold at night up there. We went a couple of years ago, riding through western CO up to the west entrance of Yellowstone, then across WY into SD. Up around UT, MT, and WY it was getting down to 38F or so overnight. Just something to be aware of if you're going west at all.

Also, even if you choose not to wear a helmet, make SURE you have glasses or some form of eye protection in SD. They will stop you and ask you to pay the fine on the spot.

Oh, and a note on travelling in a group:

I don't know your riding experience level, how you like to ride, or what your daily expected pace is, but expect travelling to take longer with every person you add. I've travelled alone, and with groups of 2-5, and up to 10 people, and believe me, it starts to get downright difficult to even make 400-500 miles in a day if you have multiple people, especially if you end up with that one guy who isn't conditioned to be on his bike that long.

If you're interested in the the scenic route I described earlier let me know and I'll post up our ride maps and camping spots.

Welcome. Ride safe up there and wear your gear if you have it.
