Steering damper reduce tank slapper or keeps it at minimum but not 100% tank slapper proof.

We were in the group but we were way in the back. We came over an overpass and saw all the bikes stopped and the ZX10 on the feeder. The guy was very lucky to walk away.

HPD cop stopped and warned us all about our type of bikes. He told us he investigated the guy who hit the 18 wheeler on 290, Eric Roman's accident and the dude who went off of the allen parkway on ramp. Went into detail about each which I thought was unnecessary.

from what ive gathered, best way to beat a tank slapper is HOLD ON and be hard your rear brake but not to the point to lock it up, its worked for me and others every time

I remember that SMART !! He said some phucked up t to me at Roman's accident, I made him feel pretty bad about it, but he was nice enough to personally apologize, so he's back on my yellow list!!!

As for tank slappers, ride that monkey!!! The bike will correct itself...some times!!!

It seems to be ZX specific; GSXR, R1 and Honda don't have that tendency.

And on a big bore, you don't have to pop the clutch.... just twist the throttle in 3rd or 4th at 90 and it will wheelie.

Cant believe noone has noticed but the zx10r he was on is an 04/05 model, not the 06/07.

Mine has a factory ohlins damper but it could be a little stiffer. I ride with it turned all the way up. Ill either be changing the oil to make it stiffer or selling it to buy the new GPR.

Both the gen 1 and gen 2 bikes have ungodly power! 120mph and through 4th gear, it can still yank the front wheel! Saw a vid on youtube of a guy racing a twin turbo supra and he walked him on the rear wheel in every gear. Just couldnt keep it down until the last little bit of the race. Its insane.

Every bike can get headshake. Its not just the zx10's. A good damper on the right setting can fix that.

I have a GPR on the 636 and i love it. They have the new GPR 4 out now that is their new model i think im going to order for the zx10r. Not to mention, its black and red so it will match the bike dead on. I just havent seen anyone carrying the new model yet unless its special order.

The 06/07's didnt come in that color and the undertail looks different than mine does.

Mine is painted down the middle with 2 unpainted strips on each side where the dual undertail sits factory and the 06/07 also has the signals on the sides of the tail section. That one doesnt.

YEah man, they look sick!

And no, 150 on the freeway or feeder is not a good idea. At that speed, i steering damper will still help but cant always save you. I dont think his had the damper though since its 04/05.
