No its not Their roads , but not ours either to use as our private race track .

Guess we all ruled out the better chance the box was forgotten about on the back of a truck .

Most Ranchers/farmers use oil / sand / diesel fuel in the blind section to make sure you hit the dirt

FYI: NAILS IN THE ROAD (again) IN RICHARDS, TEXAS

Deputy speculated that it might have fallen off the back of a construction vehicle. There wasn't enough evidence to say they were placed there deliberately or by accident. What I do know is this has happened before in this exact spot... So, I guess it could be the same driver of a construction truck losing unused/new screws in the same section of road multiple times over the last 1.3 years I've been riding that road. Possible? Sure. Likely? Not nearly as likely as a disgruntled townsfolk throwing screws in the road in the dark.

Is good that the op did, just sayin everybody should report it.

That's really what needs to happen. I'm the first in Deputy Mike's 15 years in Grimes county to report it (to his knowledge) and the dispatcher. So, program that number into your phone and if you see the nails/screws pull over and call the Sheriff and report it. Need to get a history going showing that this is happening more than once.

As a side note: Deputy Mike said it has happened a couple of times on Hwy 6 in Grimes county.

Has created a storm that has blown down every tree on the way to the your house to the track?
Has there been an earthquake that has opened every cross road with an 800 foot gap?
Have the chopper bound hog hunters suddenly gone nuts and started taking out random bikers?
Does your bike only go into 6 speeds in reverse every time you get on it?
Do you uncontrollably your pants a speeds over 20?
Are there any roads anywhere in the US that allow tripple diget speeds?
Is your brain made out or the same the tumbles around inside a cement truck?
what the is wrong with you that you can't take your bike to a track?
Who cares if someone is placing .50 cal BMGs that lock onto riders exceeding the speed limit on these country roads.
IT'S YOUR FKCUKING FAULT IF YOU GO DOWN FROM A PACK OF SCREWS WHILE RACING YOUR DUMBASS CONCRETE BRAINS OUT ON A ROAD WHERE YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS DOING THAT. GO TO THE TRACK YOU FKUCKING DUMBASS! YOU CAN GO EVEN FASTER ON THE TRACK AND YOU'RE WEARING THE RIGHT PROTECTION.

Highly doubt they are intended for cars. But that's just speculation. If you drive a car out there and get a flat (at posted speed limits) I doubt you will get much road rash or skid up your fairings.

We dont all ride it like a race track. Some of just enjoy riding the roads. Not everyone can afford the track. Thats why we buy streetbikes. To ride on the street.

The group that I ride with has been going straight at the railroad track for a while now to avoid this. It's happened in that same turn one other time that I'm aware of. Thanks for picking them up.

I'd have to say, none of the above.
So just why do you think the screws, nails, whatever - were put there for in the first place?
Possibly to slow down the mail a little more than it already is?
Maybe they are there because a local land owner was trying out a new rare earth magnet he bought and just missed one of the boxes of screws he threw on the road rather than in the grass.
The OP really never found these screws on the road where he says. He just took a picture of a bagful he had in his hand.

Come on, at least try to give a reason that makes just a touch of sense why the screws are there. Is it really because he's a psychopath and doesn't give a if it's a car, bike, bicycle, 18 wheeler..... and just really really wants to see some one on the road get hurt, doesn't matter who, just as long as there's carnage?

Does he do it because he just hates all bikers and gets his jollies no matter which type goes down?

Nah, I gotta lean more towards him being sick of wanna be IOM power rangers. I'll bet he called 911 long before OP thought about it but he gets the same bull any of us would get if we called 911.

Rather spend money at the track. No tickets and you can ride as fast as you want. As to the haters of bikes on a road. Karma pays off in the end. It goes both ways.

Lol, think what you want, man. If you doubt me feel free to call Deputy Mike at the number I posted and ask if it really happened. Really. Go ahead. I'll wait.

What's also interesting is if walk that stretch of road between the railroad tracks and red metal buildings you'll see nails embedded in the asphalt (west bound) and old screws as well.
