FYI: NAILS IN THE ROAD (again) IN RICHARDS, TEXAS

Be aware when riding through Richards, Texas on FM 149 as i found black nails/screws on the road again with my freshly scrubbed in Rosso II which now has to be replaced. Dropped off the bike and came in a cage then picked up the nails/screws. Click image for larger version

If you see nails in the road in Grimes County (Richards/Anderson) please report it to the Sheriff at 936-873-2151. If you see someone doing it please call 911 (as I was told by Deputy Mike Bewley). I, apparently, was the first to call and report it to the a Sheriffs department.

FYI it probably wont stop . Ranchers/farmers get mighty about bikes hauling through the FM roads around their nice quiet land .
I use to live far out in the country , and know many of them / how they feel .
It does not give them that right .

But remember this when you have a 1 ton animal in a squeeze chute thats already a hand full to tag/worm/castrate , and a bike zings by @ warp speed
you may of just caused serious injury to live stock by a broken leg in the chute
because they go nuts . there goes $3000 dollars of livestock . Maybe even a injured Rancher/farmer .

Now you know why they dont like us riding their back farm roads

Sorry but an HD at idle is way louder than my RX at full tilt even without the secondary resonator. The beast must just hate the chute because they ignore us when we go by when they are nearer the road close to the fence.

Seems to me throwing that on the road hurts every one not just the bikers.

Because they are not pined . Guess you would of had to work cattle to understand .

I'm not defending the farmer / rancher rather stating why they do it .

Cant fool me either all three of my bikes are over or around 100 db within 30 feet @ RPMS
FJR/ Muzzy pipes no cats , ZRX muzzy piped , ZX11D Muzzy as well .

Your in front of the sound that exits from the rear . Not the same . You can hear a bike for miles away on the pipe in the country .

FYI

Jet take-off (at 305 meters), use of outboard motor, power lawn mower, motorcycle, farm tractor, jackhammer, garbage truck. Boeing 707 or DC-8 aircraft at one nautical mile (6080 ft) before landing (106 dB); jet flyover at 1000 feet (103 dB); Bell J-2A helicopter at 100 ft (100 dB).
8 times as loud as 70 dB. Serious damage possible in 8 hr exposure

Why they hear us so well

Quiet rural area= 30db One-sixteenth as loud as 70 dB. Very Quiet

So when are we going to poison the livestock water supply?

I do not condone my actions but you understand where I am coming from, right?

I would suggest that every time it should be reported to the popo.
Is good that the op did, just sayin everybody should report it.

Set up a game camera near the area where the screws are being found. Then catch him in the act.

Pretty messed up, considering I cruise through there quite a bit! Didn't know those roads belonged to the farmers! I'm sure the sheep that did it would feel pretty bad if one of those nails caused a catastrophic tire failure and lead to the demise of an innocent rider!
