Anyone works in the Medical Center and ride your bike to work?

Is it safe to park in any garages in the TMC?

I cant speak for the rest of tmc but my bike is pretty safe where i park it. no garage is stealproof but I park at an MD Anderson garage, (they own a few) they have valet guys/gals right near the bike parking and cameras.

I don't know about the garages, I park in the faculty lot next to my school. I don't think anyone wants to steal my 250 though.

Garage + motorcycle + houston = chance of stolen property.

They'll steal anything.

Med Center is one of the worst parts of town for consistent thievery. Cops do NOTHING about it. Never have. Never will.

I'd rather captain a barge full of gold off the coast of Somalia before I'd park an unlocked bike in the Houston Med Center.

My old office was a dumping ground for a chop shop on the east side. After calling in a few times to report found abandoned vehicles with important parts missing (motors, wheels, etc) and being treated like a criminal, I couldn't give two about helping HPD anymore.

ETA The Magnum with two bodies in it justified a call, but beyond that, 'em.

Park in garage 15, the Trevisio building. You can just ride around the gates so it's free, also, cameras everywhere for a little security.

I park in 1MC and see a few bikes there. I wouldn't trust it though... even with cameras, it only takes an instant and you're bike-less.

How do you claim it's stolen property if it's not yours and you don't know the owner? Cops aren't going to clean up junk left on private property

I came to work one Saturday and there was a F250 KR parked sideways in my parking lot, on blocks. No seats, mirrors, grill, headlights, etc.

I called the cops because it had AR plates, so I figured it was yet another stolen drop at our place. I wanted them to handle it because I'm damned sure not paying a tow truck to haul off what I suspect is stolen property, but I need to get it cleared because the employees need a place to park. FWIW, I was always 100% correct when I reported a stolen car. And I've reported a bunch of them.

The fuckwits downtown always treated me with contempt and suspicion when I'd call one of these in. If they'd put half that effort into busting the chop ring in that neighborhood maybe I'd stop having stolen vehicles dumped on my property. Not that it matters anymore. We sold that warehouse and moved to a larger facility in Pasadena.

HPD doesn't left a finger to combat vehicle theft, IME. YMMV
