To Knew Friends and Old Friends...

We grow older and lose friends along the way. We may gain friends and learn that others are full of deceit; they will stab you in the back and wear you out. Itís a lesson well worth learning, a lesson we all wish we didnít have to learn the hard way, but when it happens in the end we are grateful to know whom we can and canít count on.

Over the course of 2 years Iíve learned who my true friends are and who my ďparty friendsĒ are. Iíve learned it all the hard, and time and time again I wish I hadnít. Either way, itís good to know who will stick by you when times get rough, who will offer you a shoulder to cry on and who will beat up the one that caused you pain.

I hope that as I continue to grow older I continue to meet mature, caring, thoughtful and trust-worthy people to befriend.

Recently Iíve noticed my circle of friends growing smaller with each day that passes, and this saddens me. However, through it all Iíve come to realize that this is just a part of growing up. Iím 20 years old and so far Iíve discovered the limited people that I can trust. Those of you who fit under this category, I love you with all of my heart, and I would do anything for you, most of you know this already.

To those of you that have hurt me, Iíll pray for you.

I hope I gain a lot more good people as close friends.

MOTOHOUST: I'm really glad that I've joined! I can't wait to meet all of you wonderful people!

who you "choose" to befriend, says a lot about your character. Friends aren't like family, you have a choice there. So if people repeatedly hurt you, maybe you should reconsider a few things.....

Oh and Hello...I'm Justin, welcome aboard.

Hi Justin,

And thanks for the advice... but it took an entire 2 years for me to descover that my ex-roommate was going to screw me over the way he did... I guess he was just a great actor...

And usually I am a really good judge of character... which is why I have my "Close friends" and my "Party Friends".

Its a sad fact of the human condition that many of the important lessons can only be learned thru pain. It's what comes after the pain that is the reason to go on.
After the pain is the realization that there is still good and truth out there.
There is an old song that says " Love when you can, cry when you have to, be who you must it's a part of the plan".
