You're going to have a fun one-sided conversation.
Although, I can see I already had an effect on you.
You went back and changed "board" to "bored.
Good job. *

Re: top registered speed

~175 mph true speed on ZX-12R.

167 mph true speed on ZX-10R.

On the Kawasaki's, speedo error is ~ 7%. With a sprocket change, 1 down in front or two up in back, the error is ~ 11 - 12%. I verified this with a GPS.

Steve-O, those Honda's must read high. Get a Kaw and your speedo does not have to lie as much :laughing6:

Re: top registered speed

2003 600RR 157mph indicated at TWS (Texas World Speedway). I still need to get the gearing right to top out 6th on the embankment though.

NEVER!! Honda's all the way... Kawi's have a curse, I can't ride one. Two ZX10s were totalled the last trackday I went on. I've seen one guy die infront of me on a an older Z1000 and another guy be terribly tore up riding a Kawi. I know it's all mental... but I just can't convince myself to ever get one. I rode a 636 one time and really enjoyed the engine, but just didn't feel right on it at all.

Our bikes must be geared different, because I got several more mph out of it. Ask speedster00 :dontknow:

For those of you with a sprocket change... figure 14-16% error rate. My F4i now reads like 172mph in the top of 6th.*
mine has shown 187mph. Stock gearing.

If u go up teeth in the rear(or down in the front) your speedo will show more than you're really going.
If you go down in the rear (up on the front) its the opposite.

You dont want to top out.* Then you'll have people flyin by you cuz you're at the limit and they still got more pickup... You want a good balance of acceleration and top speed IMO.
