Inside the ring with Houston's Ginny Fuchs

Boxing is a man's world, but one that Ginny Fuchs is dominating.

"It's a struggle for women because of that. We have to fight for our rights. What they get, we have to fight harder for that," said Fuchs.

Fighting hard is what Fuchs is best at. Ranked No. 2 in the country, she will compete for a spot on the 2016 Olympic team.

"I have to win the Olympic trials, which will be in October and November of this year. I plan on winning that, I have no doubt in my mind I will," said Fuchs.

Fuchs is confident, but comes in as the underdog behind fellow Houston native Marlen Esparaza. Esparaza got the best of Fuchs earlier this year, but the loss was a learning experience.

"I take that back to the gym and I work extra hard on perfecting my weaknesses," said Fuchs.

Fuchs, 26, didn't grow up in the gym. She attended LSU on a cross country scholarship, but quickly realized her true passion.

"I met someone who was a pro boxer and I wanted to get back in shape, and I was like 'that was fun to learn boxing.' And I just became really good at it, picked it up real well," said Fuchs.

Fuchs picked it up so well that she now trains at Baby Bull Boxing Academy, home of the former lightweight champion of the world, Juan Diaz.
