University of Houston students looking for 250cc engine

Hello Guys,

My name is Paul and I am a student at the University of Houston. My team and I are building a race car and are searching for a 250cc atv engine. Can anyone assist us in finding one or have one for sale. Please contact me at p.orieukwu@yahoo.com

Sincerely,

Paul Orieukwu

Does it have to be ATV? I would think you'd "want" an old 2nd gen 250cc Ninja 250 engine due to their high availability and decent power to displacement output and modern (double) over head cam technology.

Unless you're deadset on a two stroke

For a car they probably need something with a little more tq. Depending on the size though I would still go for a ninja 250 motor.

Paul are you building this for fun or competition? If for competion please send link to rules.

I use to run FSAE in school which is based on restricted 600s. It makes a get ride and lots if collective build knowledge on their forums. I suggest you check them out if haven't already. Have fun.

i am assuming you are building the car for mechanical engineering technology? if i went through the same degree and helped some teams build their cars but they used 600cc, why do you want the 250?

You can have this one...it's a 600 though, just pick it up: (we'll consider it a donation from Project GRAD Houston...we have a "college success coach on your campus and appreciate the partnership)
