Hayabusa's

I thought that Suzuki was going to have a new body style on the '07 Hayabusa's out in June this year. I'm not sure, just searching for that bit of information. If anyone knows, post up please...Thanks

The bike is on the trailer headed for Vegas but none of the 'zook reps are talking. I'm hoping for a 14 killa to make life interesting, but don't look for it to do more than the glass wall of 187. Should be a lighter faster bike with more hp to the rear wheels but who knows, time will tell.

Hope that this isn't going to be a disappointment, again.

I'd likely buy one sight unseen. You know it's going to be a monster.

I heard that it will be a 1350cc. It will probably be slightly lighter in weight, radial brakes, hotter cams, higher compression ratio, etc. I am sure Kawasaki will update the ZX-14 to keep pace with the new Busa.

Here's a pretty good article comparing the two.

Kawasaki has always made STRONG motors. The ZX-14 gives that extra bit of displacement that tops the Suzuki's power output.

I'm just still amazed that the Busa has been at the top of the heap for almost TEN years. That's like 100 motorcycle years.

Now Kawi comes at them with an admittedly more powerful (169 to 156 HP), 4 pound lighter bike - That only wins the quarter mile by about 2 tenths. (Sportriders best times were corrected and were only 2 tenths apart.)

The Kawi reportedly doesn't handle quite as well, but has better brakes. The Busa has a sportier riding position, but the Kawi is narrower and more comfortable.

This battle is no longer about top-speed, but quarter mile times (and for me, sport riding capability). If Kawi thinks that their 14 is all it will take to subdue the New Busa that is 10 years in the making, then I think they'll be sorely disappointed.

2008 Suzuki Hayabusa FTW!

The Busa's fairings took over 5 years of development so I can see why they are taking their time reveiling a new model. Assuming that there is one. They wanted to make the package the most efficiant in aerodynamics so that they could hit the 200mph mark stock. Motorcyclist magazine managed to hit it on a completely bone stock bike verified by radar. It was an amazing accomplishment. I am sure that they are working on something to top that whether it be in the 1/4 or on the top end. I am sure that over ten years in development time, they can achive their goals with the lighter wheels, lighter frame technology, better engine management etc available today.

I think the '99 Busa did 194 or 196 but the later models were not able to match that speed.
